Company
Leven
Technology was started in Stokesley, North Yorkshire by Simon and
Julie Eager as a specialist engineering Design Company offering
a complete service to the customer, not just advice. It will undertake
the engineering design, prototype, test, source the packaging and
if required supply complete and direct to the end user. Usually
working in the high quality/lower volume markets the company specialises in the Automotive and Medical equipment sector but will
also undertake suitable commercial design projects.
Formed in 1996
in the North East it quickly became apparent that geographically
this area was too remote.
In 1997 it relocated
to Cwmbran, South Wales where it was not only much closer to its
suppliers but also its customers both retail and trade.
September 2002
saw it move to Basildon Essex due to the need for larger premises
and facilities. At the same time the company, while remaining independent,
took the opportunity to form a Partnership with E Reed & Sons,
its largest sub-contractor. This allowed immediate access to a whole
range of development and manufacturing facilities on the same site.
E Reed &
Sons are a specialist sub-contract engineering company and well-established
manufacture of surgical implants and instruments supplying many
major companies worldwide.

On Site Facilities
Ideally located
just off the A127 and 12 miles from the M25 in one of the industrial
areas, the factory comprises one building and covers over 12,000
square feet with a mezzanine floor for storage of both raw materials
and finished goods. There are approximately 30 people on site.
The range and
variety of equipment and knowledge on site is extensive and allows
virtually the whole process from design to sales to be carried out
under one roof under our own control.
There are in
house CAD facilities (operated by Ford trained personnel) with the
ability to work with most file types and produce and use 3D images.
The sales and
administration offices are integrated with the manufacturing operation
to ensure maximum efficiency and a high level of customer service.
The machine
shop is extensive and has the benefit of continuous and substantial
investment in the latest technology. It includes CNC 4 and 5 axis
milling, CNC twin spindle 4 axis turning, sliding head turning,
wire erosion, die sinking, surface grinding, together with conventional
machines ideal for development. On the hand skills there is sheet
metal work, wire and bar bending, Mig and Tig welding. For finishing
there is linishing, polishing, Vibro finishing, sand/bead blasting,
engraving and laser marking. All of this is backed up with a full
QA department and system to BSEN 13485, BSEN 46002, and ISO 9002/1994
including a Co-ordinated measuring machine.
All packaging
of product, storage and distribution is carried out solely from
Basildon.

Manufacturing
Policy
Ideally all engineering
will be carried out in house and components in Aluminium and Stainless
Steel are our speciality. However plastic and other materials can
equally be worked.
When not appropriate
for in house manufacturing there is a policy of subcontracting to
wherever possible a UK a source that is already producing for the
automotive industry. The company will be perceived to be the best
in the particular field with quality and technical ability being
more important than price. In most cases they will operate to ISO
9000/BSEN, specific automotive quality system or other appropriate
quality system.
Due to extensive
knowledge and connections virtually any component, material or process
can be sourced and especially some of the more unusual or specialist
operations.
We share suppliers
with many major names including Ford, Jaguar, Audi, Aston Martin,
Volvo and even Harrods!

After market
(AM) Automotive Customers
Being TVR owners and enthusiasts some of our initial products were
accessories for our own car. Following demand from other TVR owners
work embarked on the design, manufacture and sale of an extensive
range of bespoke accessories for the different models TVR sports
cars. These are now sold direct from us or through the official
and independent dealer network worldwide.
Due to the commonality
of some major components used by the specialist car manufactures
many of our accessories fit other makes notably Lotus. Here we supply
to dealers who specialise in these car.
Through our
dealer connections many sell more than one make and type of car
and we have also become specialist dealer suppliers to the motor
trade. Here we have designed and supplied accessories for such cars
as the Subaru WRX and the Noble M12 GTO.
It should be
noted that as After Market (AM) accessories our products do not
specifically meet Type Approval, however, we always design with
this in mind and use Original Equipment (OE) operational components
where possible.

Original
Equipment (OE) Automotive Customers
Having been recognised for our knowledge and ability to produce
high quality components from a concept we have been invited into
some of the UK specialist car manufactures to compliment and work
along side their own design teams.
We are currently
OE suppliers to The Morgan Motor Company (Aero 8), FBS Engineering
(Census V6) Marlin Cars (Makaira), Marcos (TS250), and Ascari Cars
(KZ-1) and other manufactures that prefer our involvement to be
more discrete.

Development
We develop each new TVR accessory in conjunction with selected owners
and dealer and pride ourselves in product fit for purpose
and undertake extensive testing prior to the accessory being made
available. Our own demonstration vehicle, Griffith 500, has covered
over 68,000 miles allowing us to perform long term testing of accessories.
Our aim is to design accessories that are specific for a model of
car and both compliment it and are manufactured to the highest standard
possible. We will not compromise the design, or materials to reduce
cost and while our accessories may cost slightly more than others
this reflects our professionalism and customer service.
We believe an
important part of the overall package is presentation to the customer
ensuring that there are detailed fitting instructions for all abilities
and if tools or adhesives are required these are ideally included.
